The Freewell Brandon Li Edition set is designed for lenses with a 72 mm thread and provides flexible control over exposure, reflections, and the character of highlights in the image. The VND/CPL module has two separate control rings: the front black ring adjusts variable neutral density from ND2 to ND32 (1–5 stops), while the rear green ring independently controls polarization. The CPL filter helps reduce reflections on water, glass, and other non-metallic surfaces while also enhancing color saturation and contrast.
For filming and photography in very bright conditions, the included ND32 filter can be magnetically attached to the module. This extends the light reduction range to 6–10 stops, up to a value equivalent to ND1000. The ND32 filter can also be used separately on the base ring. The locking magnetic mount facilitates quick configuration changes and helps keep the filter securely in place.
The set also includes a Glow Mist 1/4 filter for softer rendering of bright areas and a gentler cinematic look. The optical 18-layer coatings and True Color technology with an Anti-Color Shift layer help reduce glare and color shifts. Practical accessories include protective caps, with the front cap featuring an integrated gray card for white balance adjustment, as well as a case, a single-filter pouch, attachment accessories, and a cleaning cloth.
