VMD 138 penetrating liquid is the second step in a three-part set for the capillary inspection of cracks, pores and weld defects or pressure-cast components. It helps accurately detect surface defects in metal components without damaging the inspected surface.
VMD 138 penetrating liquid is intended for effective non-destructive testing of metal surfaces. It is used together with VMD 137 cleaner and VMD 139 developer to locate holes, material defects, cracks and porosity in welds or metal castings.
Instructions for use:
- Degrease and clean the entire surface using VMD 137.
- Apply a thin layer of VMD 138 to the surface and leave it to act for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove the remaining penetrating liquid using VMD 137 again and allow the surface to dry.
- Spray on VMD 139 and leave the developer to act for several minutes. Red marks will appear at the locations of metal defects, making them easier to identify and subsequently repair.
