Data is encrypted in hardware using the AES 256-bit algorithm automatically and in real time. No software installation is required for secure use – ideal for working with sensitive files.
Access to the content is protected by a code entered directly on the device thanks to the numeric keypad (PIN up to 12 digits). The password is not stored on the computer and is not transferred to it during unlocking.
After 20 unsuccessful attempts, the drive locks and requires formatting, which increases security against unauthorized access. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface offers speeds up to 160 MB/s read and 140 MB/s write (also compatible with USB 2.0).
The Verbatim Keypad Secure USB drive encrypts stored data automatically and in real time using the AES 256-bit algorithm. Access to the content is protected by a code entered on the built-in keypad – the PIN can be up to 12 digits. The advantage is that the password is not stored on the computer or in system memory, so it is not transferred to the device you connect the drive to during unlocking.
For increased protection against attempts to crack the code, a security mechanism is available: after 20 unsuccessful attempts to enter the PIN, the drive locks and must be formatted. Thanks to the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, it handles fast transfers (and is also backward compatible with USB 2.0). Connection is via USB-A, and the package also includes a USB-A – USB-A cable.
The compact body made of aluminum and plastic is complemented by LED indicators for power, USB activity, and encryption status. The drive is powered directly from the USB port. Included is Nero Backup software for Windows (not supported on macOS).
