WS30BK Weather Station
A weather station measuring indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, absolute atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity trends, with clock, calendar, alarm functions, and support for up to three wireless sensors.
Ensure your thermal comfort year-round!
The BLAUPUNKT WS30BK weather station helps by showing temperature and humidity indoors and outdoors. It tells you whether your living room is too dry, too humid, or just right! You’ll also see the current atmospheric pressure and a weather forecast for the coming day. The clock with alarm and calendar is handy for everyday use.
Thermometer and hygrometer always at hand!
WS30BK has a built-in sensor to measure temperature and humidity in the room where it’s used. An additional wireless sensor included in the set can take measurements outdoors or in any chosen spot. The measured temperature and humidity values are continuously updated and shown on the weather station’s built-in LCD display*. The device also stores the day’s minimum and maximum temperature and humidity readings, which reset automatically at the start of the next day. Temperature values can be displayed in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Track environmental trends—and the weather trends too.
In addition to measured temperature and humidity, trend indicators for these parameters are available. Arrows on the screen show how the readings changed over the last hour. An upward arrow means the value has increased, a downward arrow indicates a decrease, and a horizontal arrow means no change.
No need to wait for the forecast—just look at our station!
The WS30BK display provides a graphical weather forecast for the next 12–24 hours. Note that this forecast is calculated based on fluctuations in air temperature and humidity and has limited accuracy, but it’s a helpful tool for estimating conditions in the coming hours at your location. Depending on prevailing conditions, pictograms indicate sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, or snowy weather.
Pressure dropping? Time for coffee!
The WS30BK features a built-in sensor for measuring absolute atmospheric pressure, displayed on the screen. If you feel a sudden energy drop or are weather-sensitive, just check the display—if the pressure is low, it’s a sign you might need a coffee. Note that this weather station reads absolute atmospheric pressure, which can differ from pressure shown in official weather forecasts. That’s because relative pressure in official forecasts is adjusted to sea level. Absolute pressure, as shown by this model, is the pressure measured at your specific location and elevation.
Parameter calibration!
The WS30BK weather station is precisely calibrated at our factory, but if you wish to tweak readings for your needs, you can manually calibrate indoor temperature, indoor humidity, and pressure. Calibration ranges: temperature +/- 5 degrees, humidity +/- 10%, pressure +/- 9 hPa. When setting up the station, you can also manually adjust the weather forecast pictograms.
What time is it, what day is it?
The LCD display also shows the time in 12- or 24-hour format, letting the station double as a handy clock. A calendar is provided to show the current day of the month and day of the week. Day names are available in seven languages (DE, EN, FR, IT, SP, DU, and DA) and can be changed when setting the calendar.
Hello! Wake-up call!
The WS30BK also includes an alarm function. If you need to wake up early, simply set the time and sleep soundly. The alarm will activate automatically, and if you want a little more rest, use snooze—the alarm will sound again after 5 minutes. The beeping lasts 2 minutes—long enough to wake even a heavy sleeper. You can set different wake times for weekdays and weekends. Use the alarm not only for waking up but also as a reminder for important events you don’t want to miss.
LCD display! Dimmer? Of course it dims.
The WS30BK is equipped with a quality color LCD with a dimming function. It doesn’t “cheat”—it simply adjusts backlight brightness, and importantly, it doesn’t do it on its own. You decide when to dim the screen so it’s less glaring or easier to read.
Will you need to scrape the car windows?
You’ll know before you leave home, because the WS30BK features a frost point indicator. When the measured outdoor temperature hits the lower threshold of 3 °C, the device beeps and the relevant symbol appears on the display. When the temperature rises, the frost indicator turns off automatically.
One sensor isn’t enough?
No problem. The station supports up to three external sensors, so you can add two optional Blaupunkt ACC20WS sensors to the included one. Set them to appropriate channels (each sensor has 3 manually switchable channels) to avoid interference and place them wherever you like. Need to monitor temperature and humidity in the bedroom, garage, or pantry in the yard? Just leave a sensor there and read the values on the WS30BK display. With optional ACC20WS sensors, you can also view temperature and humidity readings right on their built-in LCDs, wherever you place them.
Power:
Connect the WS30BK weather station to a wall outlet using the included 5V 1200 mA power adapter, and power the wireless outdoor sensor with two AA batteries (included). To retain settings during power outages, you’ll need to purchase a CR2032 coin cell battery separately—an inexpensive addition—so no worries! The station will work without it, but you’ll need to re-enter settings after a power interruption. The LCD also shows the outdoor sensor’s battery status so you’ll know when to replace them in time.
How pleasant!
Thermal comfort indoors is crucial for our well-being and also affects various items in our home. Excess humidity can lead to mold and mildew and cause unpleasant odors. High humidity can also damage various electronic devices. Air that’s too dry can negatively affect health. Aim for optimal conditions with the thermal comfort indicator, which shows on the WS30BK display when the room is too dry, too humid, or optimal.
Puff, how hot!
You know that feeling when you’re hot and the radiator won’t quit heating? Or you’re always cold because the heating is off. To keep room temperature in check, you can set alarms on the WS30BK to notify you when preset temperature ranges are exceeded for both the built-in and external sensors. For example, set an indoor range between 19 °C and 23 °C, and if the air warms above or cools below it, the station will beep and show an icon. This helps prevent overheating or overcooling the room. You can also set limits for the outdoor sensor to alert you to extremely low or high outdoor temperatures.
Stand it or hang it?
Do whatever suits you best. The station housing is designed for placement on a table, desk, or windowsill, as well as wall mounting—there’s a keyhole slot on the back, and the power cable routes through a dedicated channel that won’t hinder installation. The included wireless sensor can also stand or hang. Place the sensor in a spot sheltered from wind and rain, and in the shade—out of direct sunlight—which can adversely affect temperature and humidity readings.
