The optical patch cord is used in networks such as LAN, WAN, CCTV, and telephony, e.g., in offices, homes, or industrial environments. Optical cables are characterized by resistance to electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, reliability, operational safety due to the absence of sparks and voltage, and the high information capacity of each individual fiber. It should also be noted that optical cabling enables long-distance signal transmission thanks to low losses in the fibers, makes data interception more difficult, and offers low and continually decreasing costs.
